Across years of sessions, Barbara Lamb’s clients described the same scene: an Earth in trouble, humans the cause, and a message that there was still time.

Again and again in Barbara Lamb’s recordings, people who described contact with other beings came back with an unexpected message: the Earth is in trouble, human beings are the cause, and there is still time to change course.

Popular accounts of contact tend to dwell on the encounter itself: the light, the craft, the strange figures. In the archive of regression therapist Barbara Lamb, the people who report these experiences often talk just as much about what they were told. One message comes up so often that Lamb spoke about it in her lectures as a pattern. Experiencers say they were shown the Earth, polluted and failing, and asked to care about it.

The details differ from person to person. One woman remembered a lecture on clean water and medicinal plants. A man came back with a conviction that everything people do affects everyone else. Another woman recalled a vision of ruined cities and a voice telling her it did not have to be that way.

This story gathers those accounts from Lamb’s sessions and talks in the 1990s, in the words of the people who gave them. As always in The Experiencer Field, the clients’ identities are withheld.

I get this more and more from these beings, that we are very important to all these beings, even if they’re millions of light years away.

Scenes on a screen

Lamb heard the same scene described by one experiencer after another.

In a 1994 talk, Lamb described something many of her clients reported. After the more clinical part of an encounter, some were led into a separate room, where they met a different kind of being, one that seemed more willing to communicate.

“And there’s often a screen. People describe it as not really a movie screen, it’s not exactly a television, but some kind of a screen with pictures like a video, a motion picture on it.”

What appeared on that screen, she told her audience, was often the Earth itself.

“One set of things that happens is they’re shown scenes of the Earth. And all the polluting that happens, and smokestacks, you know, just belching this horrible black smoke out into our immediate environment. And it shows the ozone layer and how that’s been eaten away, and all this toxic stuff being dumped into the rivers and the lakes and the streams and the oceans. And then they are told that our Earth is being ruined so rapidly by humans that it’s not going to be able to sustain life, human life or any other kind of life. If we don’t really drastically get hold of this and turn it around pretty darn soon.”

An ecology lecture

The woman who met the “nuns” heard this message firsthand.

In the first story in this collection, we met a woman who came to Lamb in the mid-1990s with an unexplained dread of driving to an evening class. Under hypnosis, she returned to a night some twenty years earlier and found herself in a bright room with gentle, robed figures. Once her fear eased, she began to listen to them. What they were giving her, she said, was “some kind of ecology lecture.”

Above her, images seemed to change as the figures spoke, like a slide show: plants, then a roaring waterfall she could almost feel on her skin. The talk turned to polluted water.

“Like they are seeing this about the earth, and our water, and people on earth aren’t so aware of it. Yeah, and like this waterfall, they’re telling me we won’t even be there in another, you know, 50 or 100 years if we don’t stop what we’re doing.”

The images moved on to a rainforest.

“You know, tropical plants that are used for medicines, and things we need.”

She wanted to help, she said, but didn’t know how. “I mean, I would love to help them.” Then she noticed something about the lesson itself. What the figures were urging had since become ordinary.

“I think it’s just all what we take for granted now. You know, we recycle, and we, um, don’t take too much, and we put things back. ... We are all aware now that we need to do this. ... And that, that when they were telling me this, it was before we did that.”

There is no way to know, from a recording, how much two decades of hindsight shaped what she remembered (more on how we handle hypnosis-based accounts). What the transcript does preserve is her surprise: the warning she recalled had come before the world around her took it up.

A critical point

Some were shown what might come, and told it could still be changed.

In a 1998 session, a client regressed to an experience of floating, with small beings alongside, above a gathering of human leaders who were being shown scenes of what could happen to the Earth. The small beings, the client reported, stressed that the gathering mattered.

“That this meeting is very important.”

Then came the reason.

“We’ve reached a very critical point in Earth’s history.”

Another woman, in a recorded interview with Lamb, described being shown the future on a domed screen by a being she called “the lady.” What she saw was devastation.

“The buildings were torn down. The sky was a murky brown orange. There was grass growing up in the freeway.”

But the vision came with a qualification, and with a request.

“She told me that didn’t have to be, didn’t have to be that way, that people were headed that way.”

“She wanted me to tell the people. They didn’t want this to happen.”

When she doubted anyone would listen, the being’s answer, as she recalled it, was simple: “Tell them even if you don’t have faith that they’ll listen.”

In a 1993 session, Lamb spoke with a being that a client channeled, and admitted her own worry that humanity might only change through catastrophe. The voice that answered was calm.

“Disaster is not inevitable, by any means.”

What people do to each other

The warnings were never only about smokestacks.

Lamb noticed that the concern her clients reported reached past pollution to the way human beings treat one another. In her 1994 talk, she shared a message that had come through one of the experiencers she knew who channeled.

“And one of them recently, from one of these beings, was saying, ‘We actually, way out there, wherever that one is, in space, light years away from our perspective, we actually get the stench, the stench from the Earth.’ Because of not only all the pollutions and ruining of the ozone layer and all that stuff that we know about, but the stench from what people do to each other, the barbaric and selfish ways that certain groups of people relate to certain other groups of people, that that has its vibration, it even has its odor, and that odor goes way out there in the galaxies. I mean, what we do here really counts.”

A man Lamb worked with in 1996 voiced the same conviction under hypnosis, in his own words.

“Understanding that everybody is, is interrelated and everybody has to tie together and that everything you do affects everyone else. That everyone has to become aware of that. And it’s responsibility.”

Ten days earlier, a client had asked Lamb whether she had heard other experiencers say the beings wanted people to be less violent. She had.

“Oh, yes, and they care very much about all the hostility and the anger and the warlike nature and the competitiveness and all of the negative emotions that we human beings have that are really causing so many problems.”

She added a line she had received through channeling, one that holds the double edge of the whole theme.

“And I’ve been told through channeling from one of those beings that the emotions that human beings have are our greatest blessing on the one hand, but also our greatest curse.”

Why the warnings matter

A recurring message is part of the record, whatever its source.

Lamb was candid that much of what her clients heard was not news. “A lot of which we already know,” she told her 1994 audience: we are polluting the Earth. Whether these messages come from other beings, from the experiencers’ own deepest concerns, or from somewhere in between is not something an archive can settle. But the pattern is real, it runs through years of Lamb’s sessions and talks, and it says something important about how contact is experienced. For many experiencers, the encounter was not an ending. It was an assignment.

That matters for disclosure. If humanity is preparing to understand a non-human presence, it should know that the people who report contact have so often described being asked to care for the Earth and for each other. And it matters to experiencers who carry a similar message and wonder what to do with it. Lamb’s advice to the man she worked with in 1996 was practical and hopeful.

“And often, changes don’t happen at the top. Often, they happen just with regular people, kinda biting off a small chunk and doing what they can. And then it begins to spread.”

The Experiencer Field

The Experiencer Field draws on the archive of regression therapist Barbara Lamb, who has conducted more than 5,000 sessions with people who report contact with non-human intelligence. Lamb entrusted the archive to New Paradigm Institute. Quotes are verbatim, and client identities are always withheld.
