Should Congress Investigate Skinwalker Ranch?
Danny Sheehan has steered away from Skinwalker Ranch for years. A new interview with its two successive owners has changed his mind about whether Congress should be looking at it.
The episode is a response to the fourth installment of George Knapp’s interviews with Robert Bigelow, this one joined by Brandon Fugal — the ranch’s successive owners, sitting together. Sheehan is candid that he has deliberately kept his distance from this material: the cattle mutilations, the apparitions, the creature accounts. What has moved him is not those stories but the fact that Bigelow keeps tying the ranch directly to the UAP question, and does so in the same register he uses for everything else.
What Bigelow describes, in Sheehan’s account of the interview, is a belief — based on remote-viewing work commissioned by his own people — that something is active underground beneath the property, and that the beings he takes to be behind it have repeatedly warned against digging or excavating anywhere that might break through to it. Bigelow and Fugal characterize the location as the most active such site anywhere, and both use the word harm about what has happened to people on the property. Sheehan keeps the conditional in front of all of it: if these things are true, he says, it would be the first credible indication he has encountered of anything sinister in the phenomenon.
His conclusion is procedural, and it is the reason the episode exists. If two men of this standing are saying this publicly, he argues, the House Oversight Committee should convene when it returns, call them both to testify, and use subpoena power to find out what the executive branch already knows about the area — and why a single ten-year program two decades ago is the extent of the official interest. He is equally clear about what should not happen: no show of military force, no threat dynamic. The ask is an investigation, not a confrontation.
About the accounts discussed here
Everything described about the ranch comes from Robert Bigelow and Brandon Fugal, speaking to George Knapp in an interview released in late August 2026. None of it has been independently verified, and Danny Sheehan treats it conditionally throughout. This page reports what they said and his response to it — the New Paradigm Institute is not asserting the underlying accounts. What NPI is asking for is that Congress establish the facts.

We need to move away from some of the threat dynamic that’s going on there, and just say: what in the world is going on?

Key passages
On why he had avoided the subject
“I’ve been up to this point in time comparatively directed away from talking about this stuff on Skinwalker Ranch, because it’s involved all kinds of spooky activities.”
On what changed his mind
“This conversation that’s taking place is having an increasingly disquieting effect on me, because Bigelow is very clearly, repeatedly connecting what it is that’s going on there in the ranch to the UFO phenomenon.”
On the admonition Bigelow describes
“Very specifically — do not allow any digging or excavation to go on anywhere on the property that would threaten to somehow penetrate underground where these activities are happening.”
On how far he is prepared to go
“If these things are true, this would become one of the very first credible manifestations that I have ever heard of there being something of a sinister nature having to do with the ET phenomenon.”
On what Congress should not do
“I think we need to be cautious about displaying any kind of military threat to the ET people that are there.”
On the posture he wants
“We need to move away from some of the threat dynamic that’s going on there, and just say: what in the world is going on?”
