David Grusch’s three-hour Joe Rogan interview made new claims about crash footage. Danny Sheehan walks through it, says which claim needs caution, and what Congress can do next.

David Grusch told Joe Rogan he had seen footage of non-human bodies at a crash retrieval. Danny Sheehan walks through the interview, flags the claim he thinks needs caution, and says what Congress can still do this year.

On September 30, former intelligence officer David Grusch spent nearly three hours on The Joe Rogan Experience (episode 2560). Grusch testified to the House Oversight Committee in July 2023, and in March 2025 he joined Rep. Eric Burlison’s office as a special advisor on UAP. The most widely reported moment: Grusch said for the first time that he had been shown footage of a crash retrieval in which non-human bodies were visible, and described them as human-looking, strikingly beautiful and pale bluish. The footage and the records behind it have not been released, and AARO’s 2024 historical report says it found no verifiable evidence that the government has recovered extraterrestrial technology.

He went further. Relaying what colleagues told him rather than anything he saw himself, Grusch described reptilian beings more than seven feet tall, including a variety with a gorilla-like build and scaly skin, and said some were encountered alive and were shot and killed. Accounts of why differ. Some coverage reports that Grusch said the beings had killed U.S. personnel. Sheehan says Grusch described a gesture that a U.S. service member read as a threat, not a killing, and he asks listeners to check the interview for themselves.

Sheehan calls Grusch one of the most credible whistleblowers to come forward, and he still draws a line. Grusch told Rogan there are reports of encounters between different non-human species that could explain why some craft come down. Sheehan says that in some 50 years of working on the subject he has never heard anyone suggest it, and he asks listeners to set that claim aside until the reports themselves are available. He also notes that Grusch, who says senior insiders are helping him and expects the administration to pursue fuller disclosure, does not claim firsthand knowledge of White House plans. For NPI, the work is preparation: what disclosure would mean for the economy, for foreign policy and the United Nations, and for how new knowledge enters human institutions.

The episode closes with a listener question about passing the Burlison amendment, the House-passed provision that would create an independent UAP records review board in the 2027 defense bill. Congress returns after the November 3 election, and the final bill will be shaped by the leaders of the intelligence and armed services committees. Sheehan’s list: in the House, Intelligence Committee chair Rick Crawford and ranking member Jim Himes, and Armed Services chair Mike Rogers and ranking member Adam Smith; in the Senate, Armed Services chair Roger Wicker and ranking member Jack Reed, and Intelligence Committee chair Tom Cotton and vice chair Mark Warner. The ask is the same for each: keep the Burlison provision in the final bill.

I’d be careful and I recommend that we all be careful about coming to any conclusions that there have been any such military engagements between the extraterrestrial craft of two or more of these species with each other.
