Terence McKenna interviews John E. Mack on the alien abduction phenomenon (Prague, 1992)
The concept of the New Paradigm Institute, originally called "The Worldview Institute," was developed over several years by John E. Mack, a Harvard psychiatrist, and Danny Sheehan, a constitutional lawyer.
Following the conclusion of Mack's defense against criticisms from the Harvard faculty in 1995, where Danny served as his legal counsel, the duo moved forward with their vision. They established a small office in Cambridge, Massachusetts, separate from PEER (Project for Extraordinary Experience Research), where Dennis Briefer, living outside Boston, was the chairman.
In this office, they initiated a unique program to train "abductee diplomats" aimed at facilitating communication with the reported "Alien" beings. Their ambition was to secure a more permanent presence at Harvard, an endeavor that persisted until 2004.
Presently, the New Paradigm Institute continues to uphold the legacy of John E. Mack, celebrating his pioneering work in researching and understanding extraordinary phenomena.
